Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana

Perhaps the best pizza in the world. Following the rules and not giving it a 10 because how do I know? Aside from the pizza they run an excellent business. Friendly, courteous, great all around. I am glad Frank Pepe’s at several locations and the original didn’t disappoint.

Essentially like the New England patriots.. lives off of hype from years past. Good pizza, nothing better than any Philly pizza joints and has grease going down my arm.

Lives up to the hype quality pizza, miles above most every other pizza shop in Connecticut. Pepperoni would have clocked a 8.9

First New Haven pizza and it did not disappoint.

Frank Pepe’s was high on my list to try and they did not disappoint! We got a trio of pizzas and the Margherita was definitely our favorite! Delicious!

it was aight. pepperoni hit but im not a thin and crispy guy

Absolutely delicious. Even the pepperoni was fabulous on its own. Sometimes it was a bit of a monster to get in your mouth.

It’s not my favorite out of the New Haven greats, but it’s still a very good pizza. 

Extra cheese was a 7.2

Great taste and crunch. Crust was good, nice coal fired cook

It’s good but nothing spectacular. Clam was more interesting than the tomato muzz. Good garlicky taste on the clam. Don’t know if I’m crazy about the crust. Glad I went at least once!

Perfect New Haven pizza!

It lives up to the hype! 1st spot but really flipping good! 8.6

This isn’t an apples to apples comparison with Dave’s as we loaded it up and for the Special which hurts the flop. Undercarriage could have been a bit darker but overall very good pie

Mid pizza not bad but not the greatest

This pains me to write this because I had high expectations. I’m from Brooklyn, and I think Brooklyn has the best pizza. But I don’t look down on other places like New Haven. But this was a disgraciad. Ice cold pie and they didn’t even cut the fucking thing. If I sent ppl from New Haven to the best pizzerias in Brooklyn and they treated them like this, I would hope they’d have good building insurance. If you are in New Haven for pizza, I would skip Frank Pepe’s and head over to one of the other overrated pizzerias. Or drive another hour and half and head to Brooklyn we’re a pie is hot and actually cut properly.

Firm, great sauce, a little heavy cheese but a great slice.

A little floppier than I expected but absolutely fantastic pizza nonetheless
