Better than the original??? It’s been a few years since I was at the OG spot on Wooster but my growing love for a well done, apizz style and overall hunger mightve over hyped this review a bit but if you told me this was from CT I wouldn’t argue. The oven is built to the same specs as the original and has about 15 years of seasoning in here. The crust is everything you’d want from a coal fired pie, that smoky flavor and char all over while having some nice consistent airyness. The sauce has the tang, has the sweetness complimented by the aid I’m sure of some grated cheese added before and after spending a little longer in the oven melds into one with that NH style cheese. It has that funk that all the best places in CT have, those first few bites will burn your face off but the flavor is out of this world. The Yonkers spot more than lives up to the hype of the Pepe’s name and deserves more recognition for delivering absolute elite level pizza.
