Frank's West Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria

This is a solid pizza. First hot slice was flop/greasy/runny cheese but as it sat for another few minutes it turned into perfection. Great italian pizza taste with sprinkle of herbs in the middle. Doughy but full of flavor. Overall a top contender for pizzas in the west end area.

If you want the closest New York pizza this is it. Traditional slice, ant really taste the sauce too much but you can tell the cheese is fresh. Great under carriage also and crispy

Overall, it’s a solid pie. I like how the cheese or sauce isn’t overpowering the other. However, I feel like this pizza is a little too doughy. I am forced to spend atleast 10-15 seconds chewing each bite. Overall, it’s slightly above average, and I would recommend going here over dominoes or any other chain pizza place.

VALDIDATION REVIEW: second time coming here because it’s the only pizza I’ve had in the Richmond area that made me want to come back for more. I was definitely way too conservative with my original score. The first time I had it should have been a 8.6. 8.1 this time, only because it wasn’t cooked as well done as the first time, but it still had a a good crisp, superior cheese flavor, sweet sauce flavor and the crust is next level compared to anything else in the area. Even talked to the owner this time and he takes a lot of pride in his pizza making and uses the best quality ingredients available. More people need to come to this place, because it’s a pizza gem in an otherwise boring/average pizza-scape in RVA. 8.1, that’s a review.

Yup! Finally. Finally the Pizza God has sent me to the right Pizza joint. By far the best pizza I've had in Midlothian/Richmond. Zero flop, perfect crisp, cheese tastes incredible. Not too much sauce. Quality ingredients. I'm callin Momma over this one. If you're a critical pizza eater like me, I want you to try it and hope you love it. Really good pizza. Good flavor in the sauce, crispy crust, cheese has a fresh taste. Will be sure to visit again, solid but not spectacular
