Freewheel Pizza

Pros: great crust and sauce. Cons: greasiest pizza I’ve had in my life.

Review is for the Grandma or Upside Down (if I were to score the classic cheese, probably a 7.4) - absolutely spectacular. Crunchy yummy crust, great tangy sauce, veers a little bit to the artisan side but still has that classic NY Sicilian style pizza integrity, like Rocky Balboa in an Armani Suit. By far the best pizza in the bay I’ve had thus far, no honest review would give it less than an 8.1.

As Dave says, “bakery Pizza”. The crust is so good. Tastes like fresh bread. It’s on the back of a Safeway. Seems it’s a bakery that opens the back door for pizza at night. Very fresh and super tasty. Best in the area IMO

Relative to other pizza in the east bay, this is some of the best. If your trying to compare this pizza to anything Dave has reviewed it might be lower.

Very good cheese pizza. First time going here. Good crust, great crisp, zero flop. Nice light char on the bottom. The flavor of the cheese and basil is good, but tastes like something is missing in the pizza sauce. Still very good light pizza. This will be my go to cheese pizza place.

Fantastic crust, sauce, taste and flop. Lots of options, but they sell out quickly.
