There are different styles of pizza. Umberto’s makes Sicilian bakery style pizza. Kids at home: it’s not “new york style”, don’t categorize it as “thin crust”, and it’s not football pizza. Bakery. Judge it for what it is, not for how it compares to what you think pizza is. Rant over. One bite! Comin’ thru!!!

Nothing that’s gonna blow you away. Far from the best pizza in the North End. Sauce is good, the slice could have been heated up a little before I got it. Won’t go out of my way for it.

Wow did Dave get this wrong. This is hands down the BEST slice place in Boston. I dream of this slice. I work my schedule so I can get there during their very limited hours!

Walking into this place was like walking into a time machine. Not a huge fan of the middle slice sicilian, but the sauce and cheese made up for the soggy crust underneath. Happy 50th Review. Prez was not too far off with the 6.6.

This was the first stop on the Boston Pizza Tour. Didn't look enticing, but the flavor of the sauce and cheese was very good. The cheese appeared burnt, but the burnt taste isn't there. Dough was a little undercooked, and if there was more of a crunch there wouldve been a higher score. I would eat here again, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

This pie took me by surprise. Not the type of pizza I typically enjoy. But the sauce was on point and I’m not even a big sauce guy. Cheese was good. Soft crust, which I usually hear that I’d be like nah not for me. But I liked this pizza.

I got here maybe 20 minutes after they opened and there was already a line and groups of tourists moving in and out which can make finding seating tough. The line moves slowly because every one offers massive portions of pizza and calzones which is pretty much all they sell. Also it’s cash only. The prices for Boston are fantastic. It’s Sicilian style sold by the slice. Of course the place is so busy the pizza was always fresh out of the oven. The char on the cheese is top notch. The sauce has a healthy portion of oregano which I love as well. It’s a thicker crust which is a little on the dry side. It’s not quite a pantheon slice but it’s damn tasty on a Saturday morning.
