Isn’t it always the way Frankie-> we try and do as many reviews as possible and today we’re at Gino’s (pizza review time 3pm -> march 22nd-> 2021)... always want to do full disclaimers -> Gino’s is a franchise chain started out much like other Canadian staple franchise PIZZA places -> based out of Scarborough (Ontario, Canada) not as big as Pizza Pizza or a Boston Pizza -> side story -> Boston Pizza is also an Ontario-> Canada Based franchise and no Frankie -> it’s not as big as Pizza Nova (or PizzaVille in its prime) but Gino’s Pizza is better to be compared to other amazing Canadian franchises and not ‘mom and pop’ type shops or small franchises like a -> ‘Good Fellas Pizza’ or a ‘Libretto’s Pizza’ -> which are Neapolitan type pies -> what el’Presidente would call this fancy pizza 🎩 ... and we shouldn’t really be comparing that with a Gino’s Pizza Which will always be aligned with that bar pie/football type pizza that you would expect from other Canadian franchise staples such as Pizza Delight, Canadian Pizza, Family Pizza, Flying Wedge Pizza , FreshSlice, Gabriel, Tito’s, Mike’s, Greco, Pizza 73, Primo and Pizza Corner -> where as -> the Panago franchise is more new aged pizza with non traditional style ingredients but not to be compared with Gino’s nor is it to be compared with Mothers Pizza -> more of a Fork and Knife Pizza -> Gino’s Is more like the Canadian stylè Franchise New Orleans Pizza -> bar pie type and we are not going to take points away for that Frankie-> for things we know before even doing the review -> such as -> some people eat this pizza as their staple since The Beginning when Gino’s opened up originally in Oakville, ON with some neat titles under there brand such as achieving World’s longest pizza in 1998 in Waterloo, Ontario -> pizza measured in at a record 176 feet, 2 inches beating that record a year later for a world record pizza that measured in at 217 feet, 10 inches!
Gourmet Toppings-> within 10 years of that record Gino’s opened 60 locations and had a partnership with The Toronto Maple Leafs... so yeah Frankie-> Gino’s is no slouch in the Canadian Franchise Pizza game -> that’s a lesson in Canadian Pizza Frankie and there is no separation in degrees of categories when it comes to actually judging the pizza -> we bite it -> score it -> 1 thru 10-> one bite everyone knows the rules... Sauce is cheap ... comes from a can ... cheese is fresh ... undercarriage has no char and there was a slight crisp to the crust and it did have zero flop once the cheese firmed ... ( some would call it breadie Frankie - We wouldn’t - some would - We wouldn’t)... BUT WE DO score em’ 1 to 10 / one bite / everyone knows the rules / bite it / score it -> 1 thru 10 -> here we go ~> all things considered! 4.8 (professional score) Gino’s Pizza ! Canadian staple ... really good pie for the price ... it’s better than Pizza Nova... it’s better than Pizza Pizza ...it’s better than little Caesar’s and Dominos... hell it’s even better than Boston Pizza and NO it’s NOT better than Pizza Hut ... so as far as Canadian Franchises go? this is definitely in the top category... in a world where an 8 is a 10 and Pizza Hut is 5.2 ... then Gino’s Pizza is a 4.8... that’s a review!
