Grimaldi's Pizzeria

Really solid pizza. Tomatoes were flavorful, fresh and tangy. Crust was super thin and mozz was tasty tasting like what you want in mozz. Like good milk. Little more crispy and score would be even higher but easily repeatable. Easily over an 8.

Pizza was decent, customers was non existent. We we told to order at the bar and wait outside despite the restaurant being empty right when they opened lol

This stunning Rothko-esque picture is not the tourist trap Grimaldi’s. It is the L&B Spumoni square pie across the street. Rushfanpizzadude fainted when I told him this new L&B was not on this silly One Bite crap app. The L&B slice is all it’s cracked up to “B”. The sauce is incredible with the perfect amount of tang and sweetness. The crust perfection. Cheese perfect. I could eat a double tray. Gotta run, Rushfanpizzadude is coming out of his coma.

Okay the great Grimaldi’s. What am I gonna say? They’ve been in the game for a long time. They practically invented pizza. Is it worth a trip? I think it is. Are you gonna walk away saying “that’s the best pizza in the world” some might. But if you are a fussy fuck like me and the Architect then you would say “not so fucking fast” good solid brick oven pizza. Above average. But nowhere near the greats like Difara, Totonos, Luigi’s. That’s the gold standard for Brooklyn Pizza. But Grimaldi’s knows that, and they probably don’t give a fuck about that. They know who they are. Now here is my only real complaint. The sauce. Could they put a little more sauce on the thing? I know it’s like a big secret sauce type of deal. But stop being so stingy. Throw a little more on there. This all being said Grimaldi’s is really good brick oven pie. If ya love Brick Oven Pizza than head over there. But if ya thinking you are getting a top 10 pie, you’ll be walking away slightly disappointed.

Solid pie. The cheese stands out on this one. The extra oregano seasoning is a great touch.

Got to pick the one pizza place we went to on a quick New York trip that had to coincide with sight seeing schedule. Lot of pressure. Think I made the right choice. Got a kick out of the 37 tourists looking for a slice they turned away because they don’t do slices. Man up and eat a whole pizza then walk the Brooklyn bridge. It was worth it. Our pie in particular was a great example from this establishment. The lady cranking out pizzas by herself at the oven across from where we sat at the bar was on it that day. This place doesn’t need my review but back home where the competition isn’t so fierce and one review can make a difference, people can click my profile and know I’ve had real pizza. There’s a papa John’s in the 6s for pizzas sake! The sacrilege!
