Grotto Pizza - Ocean City

A lot of flop overall great pizza

Today was a fantastic day. It started out with me waking up at around 6:00, and we were packing up to leave for vacation. While in the car, my friend messaged me and said “I am proud of you”. I was confused and asked why, and he responded with “Look at your newest video”. I then looked at my most recent YouTube video, and boom! 1k views! The views and likes kept going up during the road trip. Anyways, we made it to Ocean City, Maryland, which was our final destination. It took about 6-7 hours in the car, but we went out to eat a couple times during it, so that made it even longer. We were walking down the boardwalk and found Grotto Pizza. 7.2. That’s a review.

Alright- the grandma pizza is bomb diggity- I would say 7.5… now if we are talking about the special pizza, I’m gonna say 6.5. Averages together 7.0 Get the grandma special!!! Delicious sauce and flavor for a chain pizza shop!

Indiana Jones once traveled tens of thousands of miles to find the supposedly mythical secret spice that would actually get rid of all flavor. He found it at Grotto on the OC Boardwalk.

Nice crisp, lots of cheese but the sauce doesn’t have any tang.

Alright pizza, nothing to write home about, long wait, fake crisp

Remember getting this when I was young and thinking it was amazing. Finally around to try it again and didn’t live up to my own hype. Wasn’t bad. Strong cheese and weaker sauce. I like a good portion of sauce but this was too much. Slight crisp, no flop. Medium flavor.

Sauce is good. Crust good. Overall good pizza

lots of sauce. a sprinkle of cheese. not too thick not too thin crust. a MD/DE tradition.

I tried this pizza back in 2010. I was 13 years old not impressed. Flash forward 9 years still not very impressed. Has the same hype as suicide squad but has the same delivery. Leaves you wanting more.

Alright guys... review #2 of the #OCMD pizza road show and I grabbed a quick slice at Grotto’s on the boardwalk. As I mentioned... I’m on vacation...relaxing on the beach and I’m hoping to review most of the respectable pizza options in Ocean City, MD. I had high expectations when I saw the sauce on top style...but it fell short for me. The cheese has a distinct flavor and the sauce in my opinion doesn’t compliment the cheese well like some of the A1 “sauce on top” spots I’ve run into. The crust is cheesy (obviously) and I love the thin style...but I was disappointed thinking I would like this more than I did. For me... I’d say Franco’s is the better slice...especially if you’re looking for NY style thin pizza. We’ll see what the rest of OCMD has in store. Check back in...

Good beach pizza. Doesn’t live up to the hype it gets, but still pretty damn good. A lot of OC pizza tastes the same but this is the best of their style.
