I am BLOWN AWAY by the astonishingly low scores for this pizza! Having tried and rated almost 300 pizza pies in the last 5 years, I can assure this pizza is not only way better than 6s, it’s worthy of the hallowed halls of the 8s. In the pizza business since 1969 and located in Darien since 1991, this is a well-established pizzeria that uses outstanding quality ingredients. The dough is exceptional, thin & crispy, wonderfully firm and terrifically tasty, very close to New Haven style dough in taste and texture. The crust is a tad thick but maintains excellent crisp & texture with tremendous flavor as well. The sauce and cheese are both somewhat subdued but work together brilliantly with a practically perfect sauce to cheese ratio. Both have a rather unique taste that meshes with the dough incredibly well. I just cannot understand all of these low scores; maybe the pizza has gotten better since these ratings were given. Regardless, this won’t be the best pizza you’ve ever had but it’s really, really good and a pie I highly recommend trying. If you don’t think this lands at least in the 7s, I’ll buy your next pie!
