Nothing special. The slices are but which is great if you’re into that. Their speciality slices are great though.

Well, here we are, on another beautiful Friday, big varsity football game tonight against Byram. Was a great win last Friday against Dobbs, hopefully we can continue the street. All the way up in sleepy Hollow, as we all know because I’m running out of local places to do. That being said, looks pretty good, big slices, let’s get into it. So, it’s not bad, but it does taste reheated if that makes any sense. I’m curious to see how a fresh pie would taste. But it’s still not bad. Zero flop, a tad oily, but decent crunch. Maybe sauce it up a little bit. I don’t know. Decent.

Made us this pie right before closing. Zero flop, good distribution of the cheese and the crust was very basic tasting. The sauce was good but wish we t had a little bit more tang to it. Everyone in there was very friendly and grateful we had stopped in from Canada.

Apparently Dave was in this neighborhood and reviewed two spots on Beekman Avenue, good thing this spot was not one of them. There was nothing special about the slice I had from this spot.

Open since 2009 on Beekman Ave in Sleepy Hollow, NY…not sure where the Hollywood North name comes from; it’s a bit confusing though. I love the irregular oblong oval shape of the pie; it’s actually a football-shaped football pizza. This pie was clearly hand-made, not a standard cookie-cutter perfect circle pizza. Unfortunately, the taste is flatter than a deflated football. The dough is boringly bland, super soft, thick & bulky, in need of significant crisping. They use Grande mozzarella which is really good, a tad too thick and just doesn’t pop because of the other lackluster ingredients. The biggest problem with the pie is the dearth of sauce. Lacking in both quantity & flavor, the sauce is spread scantly and overpowered by the flavor of the mozzarella. This is basically cheese melted on soft & thick dough with a light smattering of sauce. The people who run this joint are incredibly nice; I wish I could give them a higher score. Without factoring in their hospitality, this just isn’t great pizza. If they add more sauce and leave the pie in the oven a little longer, maybe the overall rating could break into the 7s. But as it stands, a 6.6 is a very fair and unbiased score.

Legit Italians serving quality products across the board. Nailed the sauce-cheese ratio with a lingering garlic tang on the backend supported with a well cooked crust. One of the better westchester spots so far. Bonus content: chicken parm wedge was killer, a strong 8.5

Solid pizza just outside of NYC... family owned place with great customer service! Just the right amount of flop and the ingredients used are pretty great! 🍕
