Home Run Inn Pizza

The pizza is not what it used to be. My grandmother and great-grandmother lived afew blocks away, and my father, his brother, my grandfather, and great grandfather had slices from the first two pizza's Homerun Inn made. Had Homerun Inn pizza's since the day I was born in 1968. Stopped eating Homerun Inn in the mid 80's because the pizza had a different taste and was not good. Came back today, 1-20-24 after 40 years. What a waste. Pizza was so greasy, sloppy and floppy. Cheese slid right off the dough. Dough was almost raw in the center. My son who loves the frozen Homerun Inn's, said the fresh pizza sucks. I agree. Chicago is not a pizza city like it used to be.

Alright so, a little let down. The crust was lacking that signature home run taste. Everything else was pretty on point. Chalking it up as a fluke and am going back at a later date to test if it was an off day or if this location is just trash.

Full of flavor but no crispy at all! Sauce had a nice tang.

Frozen not fresh. Still good.

The original home run Inn is outstanding. The crispy butter crust was on point. The Sausage was outstanding. The pepperoni left a unbelievable grease that just completed the pizza. Not to mention the renovation to the restaurant is awesome!

Thin crust awesomeness. Pepperoni, mushroom and jalapeños!!!
