Great Detroit style pizza

Was in the area and saw the good One Bite reviews and thought I’d give it a whirl. Ordered a 1/2 P.Y.T and 1/2 Ambassador. Didn’t care for the Ambassador side very much. The thick cut pepperoni were sort of rubbery, and the thin cut “cup and char” pepperoni lacked that charred, crunchy, taste that I love. The P.Y.T. 1/2 was certainly the more flavorful of the two. I enjoyed the taste well enough, but with so much sauce and veggies it really detracted from the crunch of the crust. Oh, and $3 for a 12oz can of mediocre, mass produced, ginger ale, is something I could do without. Bottom line, not horrible, but I’ll not be going out of my way to hit this spot again.

Just wanna start off by saying this app really needs to be updated for all the new spots popping up, anyway todays a special day as I made the trip up to Poughkeepsie NY for some championship Detroit pizza. The squares come out at 8x10 so yours truly needed two to fulfill my hunger after the 2 1/2 hour ride but my god was it worth the anticipation. This has to be the best cheese all I’ve ever seen on a Detroit pizza and is as textbook for the style as it gets no question why this guys won the last 3 titles at the Vegas pizza expo. Crunch and crisp surround all exterior surfaces of the crust and are pillowy and airy in the interior with what tastes like a Wisconsin brick cheese fused to the top, crazy cheese pull and a lot of “bite” in the flavor. I’m sure there’s a few day ferment to the dough as this guys quality and process off the charts. A rich tomato sauce is labeled on top over my “lifestyle” topping of choice roni cups and covered by a dusting of pecorino and chopped basil that doesn’t overpower you and leads to an intense flavor complex. The place is pretty small and was starting to get packed as the dinner time approached, their menu is loaded with incredible specialty topping pies all named after famous old school cars a nod from the owner who I wanna say grew up in the Detroit area. What started out as a pop up after the owner took top honors at a culinary school became its own brick and mortar in October of 2020 and has gone on to be award winning pizza ever since. No doubt this is worth the drive from anywere in the country to experience and big shout out to my man Keith for turning me on to it. If you love Detroit style this place is a must!!! Awesome pizza.

Hudson and Packard is the best pizza I’ve ever had, including both dine in and take out. It reheats really well in the oven, too. Pictured is the Ford Funghi. The PYT is a family favorite, so is the Chicky Parm.

Light and fluffy for a dish pie. Every bite has a clean and easily bite through without pulling half the toppings off. House ranch fucksssss hard. Really quality stuff

Thoroughly disappointed—first off, they were 15-minutes behind on their scheduled pick-up time. Secondly, the restaurant didn’t have an authentic Italian pizzeria-vibe to it. Instead, it felt like more of a liberal-loving hangout spot. Finally, while I’m not the biggest advocate of Detroit-style pizza, the pizza quality was subpar at best—it tasted like they threw a little cheese and canned sauce on top of a stale square of bread. I should not have scored this so highly, but I have to stick with what I had originally scored it. Do not waste your time and money by going here. $15.00/pie of four squares is highway robbery. You’re much better off by going to Aloy’s/Emiliano’s/Posto if you’re in the greater Poughkeepsie-area. That’s a review.

Super crispy but thick. Marinara has really good zing. Detroit style really isn’t my cup of tea, but this is a great pie. If this was a traditional Sicilian i could see this in the high 8’s. That’s a review Frankie!!

Holy moly! 1st time enjoying Detroit style pizza and it was awesome! Superior ingredients make for great sauce, cheese and crust. We’ll definitely eat here again.

Solid Detroit-style pizza. Clearly a toppings-focused place, the topping combinations are unique and well done. Base pizza is solid, but is slightly thin with minimal bubble development. Bottom needs more browning to get more crisp.

Sauce and cheese are great. Maybe I am bias towards Sicilian pie I’m which I love a dense chew. This had more of an airy feel.

I would say best pizza in Poughkeepsie, or the Hudson valley. But this is the best pizza in all of the state of NY

Absolutely outstanding. With a bit more crisp this hits the vaulted 9s. Already worst a special trip.

I love the concept of this Detroit style pizza. The PYT was a little bland which was surprising given the ingredients. I think it has potential to be amazing and I’m sure some of the other specialities are awesome. I think the restaurant should offer slices also.

Can’t stop going back! All of their pizzas are to die for! My fav is the Hudson Hornet 🐝🍕
