One of the better pizzas I’ve had in some time, Frankie.
Alright so, it’s not thin crust. I feel that most people on OneBite are thin crust fanatics (myself included), so I wanted to mention that. With it being said, the way the crust is on these pizzas is really unique. They are, I guess, what you’d call “pan baked” or something. The middle is soft but not doughy, and the outer edge is crispy and caramelized. Its very pleasing.
Another high point of Howie’s is the flavored crust. They have all sorts of combinable flavors (for free). You can do, say, Asiago + Ranch... or Butter + Garlic&Herb (pictured). It steps things up for sure.
They have high quality ingredients on par with your favorite places. Cheese is good. Sauce is nice. Not too tangy. They give you a generous portion without overdoing it.
An interesting pie overall. A bit greasy, but I feel it’s fitting for the style of pizza. It’s the perfect pizza for chilling... when you want something tasty but you don’t need it to be super fancy.
