Michigan and artisan, what a terrible combination but… maybe I’ll be pleasantly surprised. Here goes. Big flop. A lot of zing, way too spicy. Doughy crust. Decent preparation. Taste is simply overwhelmed by the hot pepper they sneak into the sauce. Next time I have good pizza in MI will be the first time.

One bite…. Great flavor, little flop, could be a bit crispier. Worth trying.

Margherita pizza is worthy- crust has a great wood-fired taste and is neither a crispy cracker nor a jaw workout- it’s airy and just right. Sauce and cheese are good, if not a wow. BUT, holy cow, is that Spinach Inquisition pie a winner. That one gets an 8.1. To the great crust, add crimini mushrooms, perfect roasted garlic, caramelized onions, ricotta cheese that had a hint of sweetness, spinach…. A must-have. Drinks at this distillery are fun and tasty, but I’d even be happy to go back for the pizza alone.
