Pizza Review
OK Frankie where are we at today? We are at Ital Vera Pizza located @ 270 Chancellor Dr, Woodbridge... it’s best that you call ahead... it takes about 20-30 minutes to get your order ready depending on how busy it is... but whatever your Pizza Time is? You can guarantee it’ll be right on time!! And when you put a sign in your window that says “best pizza in town” you bet your ass that we are going to drive across town just to try out this pie... they offer ‘a take’ on a margarita pizza so that is the one we ordered —> which seems to be the most basic pizza they have on their menu and as you know —> we judge all of our reviews on the basic cheese pizza because we feel that everything you need to know about a pizza place you can tell from their basic pie——> one bite everyone knows the rules—> Sauce is homemade —> undercarriage had some good char but overall the pizza was just starting to demonstrate some dough bubbles which we use often to judge our pizzas by and from the fact that the pie was beginning to show ‘those’ bubbles means that the pie was just not cooked hot enough at the start ... and the oven was only getting to its proper temperature while our pizza was in the oven.... and it came out a little Doughy and we will definitely chalked it up to it being Covid times and the oven is not always kept at the optimum temperature when there are no customers.... because this pie has all the ingredients to be in the high 8s... everything is very fresh and the recipe is on point. The pizza had major New York flop and even once the pie had cooled down and the cheese had firmed up there was still a major New York flop. As the pizza was half eaten? the crust really started to materialize and —-> what - was - at - first - a - minimal -crisp in The Crust—-> by the final slices it was absolute pizza perfection ( some would call it slightly undercooked Frankie - We wouldn’t - some would - We wouldn’t)... And we are not going to deduct points for that because when you have the right ingredients and you make a small mistake (?) you shouldn’t be branded with a bad score. This place has all the makings to be one of the best places around the entire GTA and we can see that ‘possibly’ our pizza was rushed and therefore we didn’t get to experience That everyone talks about—-> as the ”best pizza in town” .... nonetheless that is a grace that we are going to give and we are honest as the day is long and we try them all and we try to score them as fair as possible and we take our reviews very seriously-> This pizza reminds us of Michelangelo’s in Mississauga (it’s on the same level) but when we got our pizza from Michaelangelo’s it was cooked to perfection and we gave it a very high score —> believe it was a 7.6... so with all things being equal we really shouldn’t be scoring this pizza higher than that—-> but!!!! it is right there and it’s sad that it has to ultimately get a score below its potential —-> but that’s why we score them fair and honest! So you don’t have to.... and you know how we do it ? we score them 1 to 10 —> one bite —> everyone knows the rules —> bite it / score it -> 1 thru 10 -> all things taken into consideration! 7.5 (professional score) Ital Vera Pizza! There is nothing more to say. The chef was just having a bad day—-> and he has all of the ingredients and the makings there —> to create what would be considered the “best pizza in town” and we believe them!! because the pizza got better and better as we were eating it and the score just kept going up and up —> and we could not stop eating it until it was all gone —-> and that is a welcome relief after the last few days worth of dismal pizza reviews....Ital Vera Pizza is definitely a place worth checking out and.... because of course ... with how it was served? it was not as good as Michaelangelo’s but it is still better than Nino D’Aversa in Woodbridge.... and it still had a way to go to be as good as ‘Gran Gusto Ristorante’ (also in Woodbridge) BUT in a world where an 8 out of 10 is a 10 !!!! then—-> Ital Vera Pizza is a 7.5.... we will be back .... that’s a review!
