Pizza Review
Large, soft, thick & doughy, this is the epitome of heavy Southern Connecticut football pizza. While the slices actually aren’t that big, the thickness levels are substantial. The crust in particular is a ridiculously thick mountain of dough, seemingly undercooked, leaning towards raw on the inside, super soft & completely crunchless, likely pulled from the oven too early. The rest of the dough is also far too soft & mushy with major flop compounded by the lack of firmness & heavy ingredients. Easily the best attribute of the pie is the gooey & melty mozzarella with a marvelously molten flow. Well above generic, the shredded cheese blend has very good flavor to go along with the creamy consistency. Though not particularly sweet, the sauce is relatively zesty & zingy with a somewhat savory flavor. Despite decent spices & kick, the sauce is missing an element of deliciousness from lack of sweetness. Overall, this pie is too thick, too doughy, too soft, too flimsy & just too substandard to recommend. The dough needs significant firming & crisping while the crust should be half as thin; and the sauce could use some sweetening as well. There’s lots of room for improvement; and until then, there’s not much to see here.
