Pizza Review
Served Umma Thurman hot in 1-2 minutes with a small Ridge Road flop and a no Lyndhurst flop. First Bite Score: 7.1 The sauce tastes canned with a lot of sweetness and tang. The seasoning is overwhelming and there is way too much on the slice. The mozzarella is mid at best with no salinity, taste or chew. The dough surprised me greatly. The undercarriage is salty and it’s paper cut thin. The overall recipe is okay but can be improved. The ratio is off, there is no balance in the beginning but becomes more uniform toward the end of the slice. SUB SCORE: 6.9 SAUCE: Too much of what makes sauces bad. Leave the cans alone and get your hands on some fresh tomatoes. MOZZARELLA: if they choose a better brand that provides some elasticity and chew DOUGH: not bad, pretty decent. The only knock is that it tasted a tad overworked. Summary: this is one of the highest rated joints in the area but I just don’t see it. This is a picnic slice or a school function slice at best. Good overall but I wouldn’t travel just to get this. Final Score…
