Pizza Review
Joe’s Pizza at 7 Carmine St. in New York City - if this is “the quintessential New York slice” then the places around the country purported to be selling “New York style” pizza have been lying to us. This slice is so thin that if you turn it to the right angle it actually disappears. It’s thin and dainty, the type of pizza that will be light on the stomach. The crust handle is golden and pillowy, making for a unique departure from the rest of the slice. There are many places around the country that attempt to replicate this but fail to execute with such prowess and precision. This was the first slice the legendary shop sold on Friday June 14th and it lived up to the hype. We just paid $6 to park here on the Avenue of Americas, $3 more than we paid for this slice - ultimately making this slice a a $9 experience - and yet it was worth every penny. One minute minute left and the meter maid is coming around, perhaps we will have more to say later. Or better yet, we will be back for more slices.
