🏈 Football Pizza Alert 🏈 Family owned and operated since 1967, dubbed New Canaan’s original pizzeria, there’s plenty of old school charm behind every pie which follows suit in a long line of quality establishments named “Joe’s.” This is quintessential thick, doughy, tasty, right down the middle “Football Pizza.” The cheese is thick, wonderfully melty, outstanding oozy flow, creamy & yummy with very limited grease. But the star of the pie is the sauce: sweet, tangy, well-seasoned and delicious with plenty to go around. Like the cheese, the dough is also thick and unique. The undercarriage is rigid and firm but still somewhat soft and heavy above the base. The crust is even more rigid, terrifically crispy with great crunch and flavor. This is a surprisingly good pie for non-fancy pizza; about as solid as football pizza gets. You can’t go wrong if this is your regular Friday night pie.
