Pizza Review
102 degrees pizza review in Wildwood. Joe’s Pizza on the boardwalk. Big slices!! No flop, a little grease. Super crispy crust. Decent slice.
Pizza Review
🏖BEST ON THE BOARDWALK ALERT🏖 I should have done some research before ordering a large pie here cause these slices are absolute MONSTERS! This is one of the biggest pizzas I’ve ever had, so humongous it barely fit in the back of my trunk. Divided into 10 mammoth slices, a large pie runs $32 (cash only 💵), and is enough to feed your family, extended family and your ancestors. They really need to change the name of this joint to GIGANTIC Joe’s Pizza: “Biggest Boardwalk Slices on the Jersey Shore.” Despite the ludicrously large gimmick pies, this is actually really good pizza. Much like Maruca’s in Seaside Heights & Prep’s in Ocean City, NJ, this pie has that same boardwalk style swirled sauce, fairly evenly distributed among the cheese. Shockingly, this sauce is outstanding! Sensationally sweet, bursting with flavor, plenty of tang, zip & zest; the super sweet tomatoes really punch through and dazzle. Even though the slices are huge, they’re very thin, mostly floppy, not particularly crispy, but the dough is terrifically tasty. The cheese is probably the weakest link of all the ingredients; not terrible, better than generic, but definitely carried by the delicious sauce and dough. Overall, this pizza blew away all of my expectations, of which there weren’t many. This pie rises above the generic Joe’s name and is certainly more than just big slice gimmick pizza. As crazy as it sounds, these behemoth pies are better than local Wildwood legendary pizzerias Sam’s and Mack’s. For me, this is the best pizza on the Wildwood boardwalk and a top 10 Jersey Shore pie. This is destination pizza worth traveling for, just make sure you bring a lot of people with you and a big appetite!
