So today we were in Belmont, NC and stopped by “Joe’s Touch of Italy.”
I’ve seen the FB posts and thought hey let’s go try it. My son Kaleb and I ordered two pies and garlic knots. The pizza was nice and crispy, a semi flop but still nice carriage and some char, not as much as I’d like though. At first glance we thought “hmmm we may be in for a treat here” but not quite. The pizza’s presence was good but the over all taste of this pizza was lacking. Sauce was bland, crust tasted like dough and bland as well. The cheese to sauce ratio was good but it just never burst into anything after every bite! It does beat franchise pizza’s like Dominos, Papa John’s, etc. and I’d say it’s probably a good pizza to watch the game with if you live in the area. I wouldn’t drive out of my way to eat this again though. The garlic knots were nice and soft but lacked flavor as well! Not sure what happened here and maybe it was a bad day for them, because some of the other reviews seem positive. For us on this day, it’s a 6.5. We like supporting small businesses and will try it again on another day. If it’s a better experience next time we will change the score.
