Up there with the best pizzas you’ve ever had. Light crispy feel, good char, nice blend of cheese and a wonderful sauce flavor. this place gets it.

Been to all the big names in NY, New Haven. This pizza can hang with any of them. The pizza guy knows his stuff and has a high end oven. That combo = 9.4

Traveling through - saw the high 8.4 average on 90+ reviews so knew it was worth trying. Great pizza - they make it well done already - so no flop - great crisp - great flavor - amazing pie - would DEFINITELY get it it again if I’m in the area

Honestly, a PHENOMENAL pie all around. It’s consistent. The cheese to sauce ratio was perfect, the crust was just the right type of thin, and the addition of the parm or whatever cheese that add after baking adds to the flavor. I’ll be back!

Very nice. 0 flop. light char. a bit overcooked perhaps, but sturdy and sauce and cheese are fresh and balanced application. bet a nice lite pizza. great flavor.

Now this is a solid pie. Dave would rate at minimum 8.4

Review #116 - we had the plain pie, sausage pie, and the cheesesteak. These cheesesteaks are all becoming common place, but are fantastic nonetheless, tender ribeye, nice cooper sharp etc. The pizza, we ordered extra sauce, which really makes it. Sauce was simple but tasty. Crust was very well done, high heat in gas oven, as well cooked as it could be in a gas oven, giving it an almost (almost) coal fired texture. The cheese was heavy, but still delicious, a lot of parm to finish it, but I didn’t mind. Overall just great stuff and super nice people behind the counter.

Holy moly it doesn’t get much better than this. Wish it was closer to me than two hours away.

We were enjoying a glass of wine in a bar in Downingtown, when we struck up a conversation with a couple. He and I, as we found out our big fans of Dave Portnoy, and he said you have to try Joey’s of Thorndale. This is legit New Haven-style pizza, and I wish I didn’t live 40 miles away. However, I will be making road trips to get this again and again as it’s amazing!!!

It had more flop than expected for as charred as it was. They definitely let it sit in the box for way too long while they were making our cheesesteaks. The pie did have a decent undercarriage. Good, but not as good as Pomodoro or Lione’s IMO. Still a solid 7.4

Best pizza around. Also, their cheesesteaks are just as amazing as their pizza!

Thin, crispy, and delicious. Nice char on the crust and under carriage. Great pizza
