We drove two hours to try one of the highest reviews in the region. Farpie and I have eaten a lot of pizza over the years. We have a solid top 5 and top 10 with most being alike. But we vary on a few. Not on this place. We both agree that is is the tits. It is a top 5 for me now. This pizza won’t travel well. It is a must eat at the store. It is best right out of the oven, just like one of my other top 5’s -Tacconelli’s. And this pizza is the most like Tacconelli’s of any pizza I have had. And as to the straight cheese pizza, I give Jonny’s a slight edge. It is very close but Jonnys wins. Tacs has better specialty pizza, like the white and tomato pie. But on the pure cheese pizza, this is the best tavern slice as far as I am concerned. It tastes like childhood, like pure wonder in your mouth. Better than any New Haven shop. Just perfect . This was my unicorn. Tried to stop here twice before and so glad we finally made it.

If it was hot I would’ve maybe said 9. Still extremely enjoyable cold. Hard to get an order but worth it.

Awesome crisp. Whole pie is crisp. Sauce is a tad salty for me. Overall very good!

Top notch grandma with 0 flop and great ingredients, but I don’t know if it’s worth having to drive 30 min AND get cash for.

Loved the crust! Crispy till the last slice. Would have preferred a little more cheese but still top notch!

This is my favorite pizza. It has a great thin crunchy crust with awesome cheese that provides little grease with perfect sweet sauce put on after the cheese. Absolutely stellar.

Lived up to expectation — tried stopping here a few times prior, but they were either on vacation or we had stopped on a Monday, as they’re closed Mondays. Also ordered a mushroom/onion pie, and was just as good, if not, better, than the plain. Both pies, however were crispy, flavorful, and had great homemade sauce distribution. One final note, if you’re in the area, there’s a place called SouzaFit just up the street. They have a smoothie called “Godzilla” that’s unquestionably a 9.3. I live in Tuckahoe and will most certainly be back to Johnny’s.

One of the mecca’s of NY pizza, Johnny’s is tucked away in a small parking lot but packs a lot of punch. Slices had a little bit of flop but somehow probably the crispiest slice I’ve ever had. Marinara is superb, but wish there was a bit more cheese and less oil. Still a phenomenal slice, highly worth the trek. That’s a fucking review Franklyn!!

Incredible pie!!! Cooked to perfection. Every ingredient blends in so well together. One of the best pizzerias in all of NY.

As usual a crazy adventure to get here but ate in this time even tho I love eating out. Even better then last time crazy tasty crispy crust and oh that buttery flavor. Stringy tasty cheese garlicky plentiful sauce, really one of if not most complete pies, each ingredient complimenting each other and the place itself is timeless and friendly people:)
