John's of Bleecker Street

Been a Stoolie since 2006 and have probably seen over 80% of El Pres’s pizza reviews. I came here with high hopes but was deeply disappointed to the point that I have to question the motive behind this 9.3 rating. Listen maybe Johns had a bad day but this IS NOT 9.3 PIZZA! It’s still a great slice, don’t get me wrong. It was a great lunch and all but when someone you have looked up to and trusted for all these years gives this a 9.3 and claims it as the best slice in New York and constantly compares other quality slices to this one you really have to question the whole thing. The reason for the 8.2 was because it reminded me exactly of one of my favorite childhood pizza’s which is Bianchis Pizza on Revere Beach which El Pres gave a 8.2 for but the people gave an 8.8. The only reason this place has an 8.9 from the people is because of the fanboys who just want to agree with El Pres and inflate the true score, but look through and you’ll see there are a bunch of others who agree with me. Not to mention the Stoolies at the next table who I overheard sharing the same exact opinion as me. DAVE PORTNOY if this review makes it back to you I urge you to re-review this place and give it a proper score. Sorry if that messes with whatever endorsement you have with them but calling this a 9.3 ruins the integrity of this entire app and your entire pizza game. Sorry to be dramatic but something needs to be done about this 9.3. Oh and the lines are super long because it took us 20+ minutes for them to take our order and 20 minutes to get the check after we finished. Literally 30+ more minutes at the table then we needed to be. (the terrible service did not factor into my score, score is for pizza only)
