Pizza Review
In my lifetime I have found New York pizza to be extremely overrated—it never even comes close to the greatness of Trenton’s. The exception so far is John’s of Bleecker, a pizza that can hang with the best I’ve ever had while being completely different from them: unlike my other 9s, John’s of Bleecker’s pie is buttery and tangy on the whole instead of sweet, yet it pleases the taste buds with every bite. With this pizza, a golden ratio of cheese, sauce, and crust has been achieved—the ingredients sing in three-part harmony as opposed to one singing lead and the others singing background vocals. And like the best pizzas, it’s extremely light. I’ll be damned if there’s a better New York pizza.
