John's Pizzeria of Times Square

Overrated but a cool ambiance in a former church. The pizza was not much to write home about and was closer to brick oven chuckie cheese than it was a classic NY brick oven slice. Cheese was not good imo and not as much sauce as I prefer. The crust also could have been more well done. 7.0 is not bad at all though I just came in with higher expectations.

Pizza was very greasy and floppy. Disappointed in the quality seeing the reviews. The sauce is sweet, too sweet. The crust taste like a saltine cracker.

Skip the Old Fashioned. Traditional Pizza was good. Needed more cheese. Good crust. Good service at the bar.

Phenomenal undercarriage. Perfectly well done. Sauce had great balance.

Very solid slice of pie although I would prefer Angelo’s just slightly over this one. Highly recommend it though.

Went here for the gluten free pizza with my wife and it not disappoint. The best she ever had and I was impressed as we have had a lot of bad ones.

I’m probably not going to win over a lot of people with this review. An 8.4 is what Dave Portnoy himself gave this place. I had very high expectations going in, unfortunately, the pizza just did not wow me. Maybe it was just ours in particular, but it seemed a bit doughy. The sauce was good, it had a fresh taste, but nothing overwhelming. Overall, for me, it was just an average pizza. I think if the pizza had been cooked well done, it might be a whole point higher. If anyone decides to go here, maybe ask for your pizza to be well done.

A little floppier in the middle than I’d expect this style of pizza to be. The flavors are excellent and the crisp of the crust and lightness of the pizza are perfect.

8.3 - cheese is great. Could be a little crispier but still in the 8s

In midtown, you're not getting anything better, even with the dozens of spots within a short walk. With that said, this pie is almost a carbon copy of John's of Bleeker, EXCEPT for a bit of flop at the first bite that Bleeker lacks. Otherwise, this is a must have. I also recommend the Sicilian wings, which weren't pictured but I score an 8.5.

Might have had too much high of expectations coming in and expectations were set a little too high. Not bad, it was actually fast to get out on the table.

Coal fire for the win. Amazing crust! Sauce is perfect.

A little too thin for my taste. Crust was great. Over all flavor was good too. Atmosphere was a 9.5

Pepperoni side was greasy but the cheese was a legit slice of heaven. I’m doing my best to not finish a whole large so I can have some later.

Margherita pizza with pepperoni was very good, a little too much basil for me but the flavor was outstanding. Good spot to have a beer and a pizza.

Good pie, little low on salt
