Pizza Review
There seems to be some confusion over the name of this joint. I believe it used to be called Jonuzi’s Chelsea Pizza but now it’s clearly Jace’s Place as evidenced by their signage and website. I’m not sure if the pizza changed with the name but this is pretty standard, slightly above average Jersey Shore pizza. Not bad, definitely doesn’t blow you away; basically a traditional round beach pie that serves its purpose when you’re hungry for a quick slice. The dough isn’t floppy at all, but it’s not crispy either, mostly soft with a firm undercarriage and texture that’s a tad better than the taste. The cheese is dime-a-dozen shredded mozzarella, basic & boring. The sauce has a little more intrigue with decent tang, not particularly sweet, doesn’t excite but doesn’t disappoint either. While there is a fair amount of grease, it doesn’t hinder the flavor; it’s very manageable. Overall, this pie is nothing special; it’s pretty solid, a smidge above average, very passable Jersey Shore pizza…certainly better than the schlock Atlantic City has to offer.
