Another solid NY pizza!

Living in florida, I have been reading a number of reviews throughout the year on King Umberto's. Mostly all were good, but of course, there's always going to be some that say not that good. 1. I was just coming from a pizza review at Umberto's of New Hyde Park and, unfortunately, was disappointed with their cheese blend with possibly parmesan? I have been a very big supporter of Umberto's of Long Island for years in their Florida locations, but they were different than the original. 2. Right from the first bite, I thought that it blew away the Umbertos of Long Island that I tasted just 20 minutes before. The flavor of this slice was fantastic and quite amazing. 3. It seems that King Umbertos is always in the shadow of Umbertos of Long Island, but to me, today they were superior. I will probably give them another chance next year when I am back, just to be fair. Many places can have an off day!!

Best pizza I’ve had in a long time. The regular slice was thin and crispy, the grandma was top notch, and metro was so light. The atmosphere was amazing and the staff was awesome!

Came here after the funeral for Officer Diller. This slice had serious crunch. Really nice Long Island spot. That’s a review in honor of Diller💙🖤

Considering this is in Long Island it is extremely good and very much worth your time.

I had the square Neapolitan, Buffalo Chicken, and and Deep Dish Pepperoni. All were solid, but that pepperoni was the star! ⭐️

Grandma is not my top style, but this might as well be a slice from an upside down round pie cut square, it's so thin. When I've had a grandma slice I almost always get a margherita and it had a thicker, pan type crust. This plain grandma slice with sauce on top was so good, it defies the category. The sauce is abundant and one of the best balanced in terms of acidity, natural background sweetness, and consistence. This is one of those slices that's so good on its own it doesn't need the extras, like basil, olive oil, multiple cheeses or added hard finishing cheese to make it great. The crust is really thin, well done, light, and airy and not dense to chew—my favorite. If you're looking for dry, crunchy this is not that. I think there's fresh mozzarella under the sauce, which balances better with a saucy pizza against a saltier dry mozzarella. That's a hard balance to get right because the crust is thin and fresh mozzarella is wetter than dry mozzarella. I think the square shap helps out with the slice holding up crispy. This was the sleeper hit of the fest for me. I can't really fault the slice outside of it being a thin square, while being a round slice with a cornicione is what I like best.

My score is for the grandma. Nothing short of heaven and unlike any pizza I’ve ever had.

Stopped in for a slice after a day at Belmont. This place is awesome inside and outside, great authentic atmosphere, and I was given a free slice. This is exactly what you want when you think of pizza, great flavors, crisp tasty crust, and classic New York flop. This is my first 9

Wasn’t crazy about the mozz, sauce wasn’t bad but dough was pretty good. Nice and crisp and a little char.
