Happened to be in the area after seeing the LA Beast with friends. Pies are $10 on Mondays and Wednesdays so we got a fresh one.
Liked the sauce to cheese ratio. Sauce is good, light weight yet with diced tomato and some oregano.
Crust is medium done, medium thin, quick rising denser dough though not an airy crust, not a big cornicione, which I like. It all held up well. Lacked salt though, IMO.
Mozzarella? Got to be full fat, obviously low moisture cheese. It was greasy, to be honest.
Pizza man is a nice guy. Looks like he’s been there for years. Cool neighborhood spot. The stand out is the sauce for this slice. But it’s really comparable to many other pizzerias I’ve been to.
Anyway, comparing to my other reviews of similar gas oven pizza in the NYC area suburbs , they’re all in the high 6s or low 7s. And that’s what I’d rate this.
