OK, here we are on another Friday, another pizza review. Christmas is over, New Year’s is over, and we are fresh into 2025. Getting ready for a great year. Traveled up to Tarrytown to do a review. Place called Mr. Nick,‘s. Not coming up exactly on the app. They need to fix this stuff. But it got great reviews, and looks really good. Let’s go. It is good pizza. It’s a tad greasy, not much flop, good undercarriage. I would say it’s good football pizza. Not in the eights, but definitely sevens. Great sauce to cheese ratio, good taste overall.

Advertised as a brick, oven pizzeria. But it’s a gas oven with a brick façade. Over priced. Definitely will not go back.

Mr. Nick has been in the pizza business for over 15 years; they also offer lots of other Italian fare. As for the pizza, it’s a very standard, traditional, regular football style pie. A rock solid pizza, very steady, but uneventfully plain as well. The dough isn’t crispy; but it’s not super soft either, slightly crunchy, not much flop, very basic with average flavor, with a crunchier crust. They use Grande mozzarella for the cheese, which is top quality, but with a fair amount of grease, it’s difficult to taste the difference. Along with the flavor of the cheese subdued by excess oil, the sauce is buried as well. Banal and somewhat pedestrian, there’s not much to the sauce. Lacking in flavor and kick, the sauce is also a tad sparse in quantity too. Overall, this is a fine Friday night, neighborhood pizza; a bit basic, good, but not great, a tad too generic to write home about.

Grandpa slice is thick but light. Great crisp and flavor. Loved the toppings. Was in town for a wedding and owner welcomed me in. Good people, good pizza.

A little to greasy and a tad to floppy. Otherwise every other ingredient is solid. Sauce, cheese, flavor and color of the dough. Textbook football pizza or a Friday night for the kids so the wife doesn't have to cook.

Good sauce. A bit sweeter than average, but in a good way. Good crust. Cheese is nice. Melted well. Not greasy. Good dough and crispy crust. Nice crunch.

Very crunchy thin crust and good flavor. No grease or flop.

Very thin, not enough cheese, and not wort it.

Owner is a character, Pizza is great. Other stuff on the menu if you don’t want pizza.
