I've been to a lot of the greatest hits places in NYC and NJ - Lazarra's, John's of Bleecker, etc - and this place is right up there with the best of the best. Have no idea why Dave gave it an 8.1. It's definitely in the conversation for top 5 best in the northeast. FARRR better than John's of Bleecker's. Just as good as Lazarra's, which got a 9.3. And the place is so old school and cool. Old school booths, pay phone, jukebox. Gotta get here if you haven't been.
