Little Angelo's Pizza

I stopped by Little Angelo's in Rosemont and ordered the Chicago standard sausage pizza. The outer edges of the crust were cracker like and had the air pockets. The crust was firm and even the middle pieces held up well. The sauce was a thick sauce that was a little bit sweet and very tangy. The cheese was basic and was loaded with seasoning. It was like they had bought a huge jar of "pizza seasoning" and dumped it all over the pizza. I picked off several pieces of sausage and ate them separately and found the sausage to be extremely bland. 30 minutes after eating the pizza I was left with a rather unpleasant taste in my mouth from that seasoning mix that they used way too much of. This was not my favorite pizza.

A pretty good slice. I give it a 7.4. Tastes a bit like Marconi’s in Detroit

Cheese is thick!! Taste is good, great sauce good crisp. Had to try the sausage on half cause it’s home made!! With sausage it’s a 7.5! That’s a review!

Crispy crust, lots of cheese. A little salty, not fancy, but good pizza.

Little Angelo's is a cheese-lover's dream without sacrificing the other elements that make up a great pizza. I stopped in during my lunch to grab a slice for the first time and it was already packed and ready to go. A little apprehensive, but there were enough customers to see they knew their supply and demand with the timing. It was fresh. I got a slice of pepperoni and let me tell you, after biting into it, it was an explosion of flavors. The seasoning and ingredients were an amazing combination. It even looked like they put a layer of cheese, then a layer of pepperoni, then another layer of cheese. It was very distinct throughout the slice, which was a first for me to see an execution like that. The crust was just slightly thicker than I would consider a traditional thin. It wasn't crispy or crunchy, but was cooked perfectly for a chewy style crust. You could fold it, but resulted in trying to sandwich the cheese in between the crust, which was a bit messy. The sauce was substantial enough to balance the amount of cheese and had a lot of natural flavors. It leans more toward savory, but with just a hint of sweetness from the tomatoes. Priced at just over $4 with tax, there is enough to satisfy a pizza craving on a budget. Check them out if you're taking a lunch break, over at Allstate Arena, or just in the neighborhood.
