Lou Malnati's Pizzeria

I did enjoy this pizza quite a bit. Not quite in Giordanos league, but their crust is very good. Happy pants. But Giordanos is still king.

Best Chicago style pizza I’ve had as of this review. Amazing sauce, cheese, and the buttery crust is fantastic. Beyond that, service and overall experience was top notch.

Lou Malnati’s sets the standard for Chicago Deep Dish Pizza that all other deep dishes, and all pizzas for that matter, are measured by. For that perfect flavor, a thick, buttery pizza baked to absolute perfection, creating a crispy crust, and luscious layers from beginning to end - this is the one!!! (Recommended: half cheese with extra sauce, half pepperoni, sausage, and green peppers with extra sauce)

I gotta be honest, I was not Impressed. Regardless of the style of pizza it is, this was lacking sauce and flavor. Don’t waste your time with cheese. Pepperoni was decent at best.

Not the traditional Chicago style deep dish. Crust was hard on bottom and crust was too crispy. Sauce was also more tomato like. Not impressed overall. Cold beer though.

Visiting from FL, had to visit the standard for deep dish pizza, Lou Malnati’s. They didn’t disappoint. Reserved a table for 6, it was a little cozy, but you didn’t really feel it. Staff was young and energetic. Got a reminder about 2 hours before our reservation, recommended pre ordering pizzas because they take about 35-45 minutes to cook. The person I called recommended two large pizzas, which in the end was too much. We had some apps, the pizzas would have been enough, but we got sucked into the atmosphere. Got The Malnati Classic and “The Lou.” Classic was meat, The Lou was vegetable. First - 4 of 6 preferred the vegetable pie, that was surprising, but it was great, the meat pie was really good. 8.4 for The Lou, 8.3 for the Classic. A great visit to Chicago, this was a good call, everyone was impressed and happy as we waddled out and took a photo for evidence. El Prez was good when he came here, so were we. Eclipse yesterday, Lou Malnati’s today, that’s a review.

Deep dish debut. Didn’t disappoint, great crust & sauce hit it out of the ballpark.

Undercooked, doughie and two pies for the office and you forgot to cut the pizza - so disappointed

Quality stuff! Good crust, solid flavor. Can’t beat deep dish in Chicago!!

I’ve had 5 different Chicago Deep Dish places in my life now and this is my 5th favorite. The crust didn’t do it for me. The cheese was really good as was the sausage, but the sauce was a bit bland and the crust was meh.

As an out of towner, I was surprised with the quality of deep dish pizza. Everyone mentions Lou's, and while it may have touristy connotations, it was super good. The crust, while thick, was cooked well and the sauce was very tasty. This slice has turned my preconceived notions of deep dish

The famous Lou’s. Fermented sour crust, perfectly done. Ordered out so I wanted to give the fresh rating. The gold standard deep dish pizza that all others must be compared to.

Excellent, flavorful sauce and crust. However, too much cheese, and … deep dish ain’t it

1st time back since Covid - it’s still good but it’s lost some of its character - I ordered some Frozen and had delivered but not as good as fresh. The buttermilk crust still has great flavour and cheese and tomato all good for Chicago Deep Dish but can’t give it an 8

Wonderful pizza, Mark thinks it’s one of the best and Vanessa hates it.
