Pizza Review
I had to get an obligatory Lou's review along with the rest of my pizza reviews. I probably get a deep dish from this location at least twice a month. Although everyone has their favorite deep dish pizza in Chicago (mine being Pequod's) this has to be one of the top recognized names along with Gino's and Giordano's. Lou's has a crispy crust, ample amount of cheese, and a large tomato chunk style sauce. I really wouldn't even consider it much of a "sauce", but more of a topping. Needless to say, there really isn't anything out there like it. One slice and you are full. The sausage also comes slab style across the entire pizza. I personally request and prefer their sausage pieces instead. Also, be sure to order the butter crust. It adds a great flavor! Other lesser known option that is nice is the lower-fat mozzarella cheese. I really could not tell the difference. As another "healthier" option, they now serve poultry sausage, which is also delicious. Taste a piece of Chicago history, stop by Lou's, and get a deep dish pizza!
