I think this pizza is very good, it cheese had a nice flavor and a little grease, the crust was pretty thin and had some semolina seeds. It had a nice flavor, the tomato sauce was very good, and my family likes this pizza. One of the best in the bronx.

8.1 (Plain) 8.3 (Sausage) Louie & Ernies has been serving up classic NY thin crust pizza since 1959 and that 60+ years of experience shines through. First and foremost, if any of you know me by now, you know I absolutely adore a thin slice with no flop. L&E’s has nearly perfected that thin crust almost to the point where it’s possibly too thin! I took my first bite and although it was super thin, the first couple bites weren’t as crisp as you would think, it did improve towards the 2nd half though. The sauce to cheese ratio was perfect however, providing savory bright flavors with hints of sweetness. The back crust was again very thin, but this was very nicely done to a crisp and crunchy exterior with just the right amount of give in the bite. There were areas towards the back crust that almost had a cracker like consistency which for me were absolutely delicious. I couldn’t go to L&E’s without getting their famed sausage slice though, the weight of the sausage was just too much for the paper thin crust so it did have some added flop resulting in this slice requiring two hands for the first 2 or 3 bites to fully enjoy but in any case it was still amazing due to the immense flavors. The large chunks of savory Italian sausage were awesome, bold hints of fennel as well. I think if the slices I got were just a touch crisper to hold up on the fold, I would’ve scored in the mid 8’s because everything else was on point. L&E’s is one of the must-go pizza spots if you’re anywhere near the Bronx, you’ll be happy that you did!

Such a superb slice. Perfectly thin and crispy, slightly well done, and the right amount of grease

Seriously, Dave?? I'm a NY/NJ Italian, and this place is an embarrassment. The whole place was filled with smoke from something they burned, the pizza station was covered in flour (so was the kid cutting slices), and it took 10 minutes to locate my pie that had already been on top of the oven. Pizza Hut and Domino's have this place beat every day of the week. I'm not even convinced that the cheese was mozzarella, or that it wasn't some "cheese product" instead. 100% pure garbage. We threw the other tiny slices away after forcing down one each. Thank goodness for the beautiful Italian leftovers from Christmas cooked at home!

Very, thin floppy at the beginning and crispy toward the end . Pretty greasy but has really good flavor. Not bad at all

Cheese slice: very thin slice, which is good but perhaps too thin; right amount of flop & crispness; sauce and cheese decent; thinness overshadowed the cheese and sauce a bit though; overall very good NY slice

Great dough. Nice crisp. Cornstarch on the bottom like santillos. Would be an 8 but the sauce doesnt have enough flavor

Nice oregano flavor, solid pizza that you won’t dislike or love. Crust is quite hard and flavorless. Perhaps the best sausage I’ve seen on a slice but garlic was a bit overwhelming. Good cheese to bread ratio, pretty light for a NY slice. Aptly ranked in the Bottom of the Top 100 in the US.

Right up my alley! Thin crisp bottom and a delicious tang. If all pizza restaurants could make a slice this good the world would be filled with amazing pizza. Anyone looking for a picture perfect New York slice can stop here.

Good thin slice, not enough sauce. The sausage is really good. Sweet sausage not spicy
