On the Portnoy scale, this pizza is the best in San Antonio hands down. From the one bite reviews done in Texas, Lover’s can go toe to toe with the rest and still probably be on top. Locally sourced small farm toppings are all to die for. (Cheese/sausage/roasted jalapeño pictured) And the poblano pizza is a must for spice lovers and white pizza lovers. Since the hype has settled, I have gone at open twice at 4pm and not waited more than 30 min to order and get my food. Very reasonable wait and price for the amazing product. If you like crispy char-coaled sourdough crust and classic slice shop vibes, Lover’s brings Texas flare to this New York Style slice shop. Plan ahead and you will not be disappointed. Also I did see they allow online orders for future days up to 5 pies.

Dave gave this an 8.1, but if it was in NYC with a long history it would probably score a 9.1. Brick oven, great crust, no flop, super tasty. All for $24. I’ll be back.

Really excellent. Probably the best in Texas that I know of. Had a wonderful char, tomato flavor, and the foldability is great. A little heavy on the cheese for a plain but still excellent. Lots of people are giving this place bad reviews because they had to wait — grow up losers.

Service is the worst I’ve experienced anywhere in San Antonio, they’re extremely slow, and have a major attitude, plus the wait is 1.5-2 hrs for mid pizza.

Best pizza I have had, we have some ok spots in Utah and when I was in San Antonio and had see that Dave Portnoy had been here and gave it an 8.1 I knew I needed to come by, on our trip. I got here 15 minutes after opening and waited in line for 30 minutes to order and then I was told it would be 2.5 hours to get a pie. That was fine with me so we went to the Alamo and riverwalk and then came back at about 5:30 and they were sold out for the day. I thought it definitely lived up to the score it received. Thin, crispy, really good sauce, not super greasy. These guys definitely killed it and I will be back anytime I’m in San Antonio.

Wild how good poblano sauce works on pizza! I was throughly impressed with the Poblano w/ pepperoni! I’m definitely going back to try their other flavors. I’m excited for the garlic bread because of Dave’s review!
