Pizza Review
Since learning about Dave Portnoy & One Bite, I’ve tried to use Dave’s scale as accurately as possible (6’s are good, 7’s strong & solid, 8’s exceptional & 9’s almost non-existent). On this site, I don’t see any 8’s but Lucoli & I know exactly why. I only eat plain now, just like Dave. There are four things about Lucoli that stand out to me: 1. The crust is thin, light, crispy & delicious; 2. The sauce is superb, Nobile’s creation; 3. The mozzarella is so unique, hand made by Nobile & you won’t find anything like it or as good anywhere; & 4. The owner & staff are the nicest people you’ll ever come across in a business establishment. The highest I’ve rated on this site is a 6.8 for a very good solid top-notch pie. The pie here at Lucoli is head & shoulders above anything I’ve had, including all the supposed “experts” on Long Island & NYC. I live across the Hudson from this place but I’ve been back five times...it’s that good! My suggestion? Try this place just one time. I predict you’ll be back as a regular as well. Nobile’s also an oven-builder & his ovens tend to show up in the top spots in this industry.
