I went into this review with hi hopes and the score reflects my own expectations being surpassed as I could not find a flaw in one aspect of this pie other than there wasn’t enough of it. The well done cook was spot on as the cheese and sauce blended into that perfect mix I love and kill for in a pie with the bites so sharp. The cheese sauce ratio across the entire pie is dead on and the thing that pushed this pie into the nines are the center slices. The middle even had the perfect undercarriage and crunch in every bite no flop what so ever. And the edge of the crust was charred leaving my hands dark and an amazing crunch. This vaults very hi up my list not just in the area but possibly a top ten for me. It’s just right up my alley in every way and the guys were awesome and so was the place!!! It couldn’t have been any better:)

Really nice crust: tender, medium thickness, some crunch, good taste. Sauce could use some zip. Pump up the sauce:cheese ratio and the score will soar. Also tried the Grandma…. Liked it a bit more. #sauce

Great consistency & flavor of the dough. The undercarriage is not too floppy and not too hard. The square large pizza has some internal slices with no crust, but the crust is good. There is a great amount of cheese and tasty sauce. The more slices I ate the better it became.

Evidently serving the community since 1939, this pizzeria is well established and generating a lot of buzz ever since Jon Stewart convinced Dave Portnoy to give it a try. The rectangle pie appears to be the signature pizza here, so that’s what I decided to rate. Maybe it’s because I came in with high expectations but I found this pie to be very basic and disappointingly underwhelming. The sauce is shockingly bland, lacking in pizzazz, punch and overall flavor. The cheese is also rather generic, no real distinct taste aside from a bit of oregano. The dough is firm, more hard than soft, but not crispy; it’s baked well, no flop, somewhere in between soft and crunchy. Thinnish for a square style pie, not too heavy at all. I think Jon Stewart was doing his friend a favor by bamboozling Portnoy into coming here and Dave was blinded by the celebrity factor when he scored this pizza. This is a solid, yet unspectacular pie, sadly overhyped and not worth traveling long distances for, despite the rave reviews of a select few. Jazz up the sauce, crisp up the pie and maybe we can revisit a rating closer to the 8s.

Interesting pizza - love the crust - nice and crispy. Great tasting sauce & cheese. More cheesy than most but I prefer extra cheese.

Been meaning to try this place for a long time, ever since John Stewart called out Dave Portnoy to try it. Pizza was good. Cheese was sauce were the highlights. Crust was very dry. I am happy I tried it but this is not a high 7s pizza. Not a traditional pizza so hard for me to score it on my scale. You get more of the taste of the bread in ebery bite then anything else. Cheese and sauce are gentle and subtle. Cooked well. I guess i would go 7.1 for freshness, uniqueness, and the sauce. I've had better 7.1s than this but the mix of the 3 puts it there for me. Pick up or delivery only. Outdoor seating available but you are sitting on the curb off a parking lot. Again, worth a try but not a must have in my opinion.

Not a rookie score. A real One. Really solid pizza. Thought I wanted just a slice. Turned into 5 slices. Crust was great.

Much thinner than it looks. Good balance of sauce and cheese; solid flavor. While there is a noticeable crunch, the crust is a bit dry around the edges.

A good solid Jersey ‘rectangle’ pizza (side note, 20 min from my home yet I’ve never been here). Favorite part was the sauce, good undercarriage with a the right amount of cheese.
