Thick, soft and cheesy. Not my style at all but I’m sure very popular in Akron. The flavor was good so it had that going for it. Crispy edges from the pan remind me of Detroit-style. The restaurant is great, so go for the atmosphere,service and pastas.

It’s okay, salads are good, pizza was edible.

The salad fucks But the pizza? Nah, this bland ass pie don’t hit the same. Crust is crispy but floppy, tons of cheese (shocker), sauce is sweet but no real pop or seasoning. It’s like eating nostalgia on a plate – fine if you’re drunk at midnight, but bland AF otherwise. 5.0. Edible, iconic to locals, but not blowing my mind.

It’s ok the salad was great, cash only. Pizza looks great the sauce is kinda bland.

Overall it was a very good pizza. But I feel that the cheese overpowered a lot of the other ingredients. The crust was crispy but the rest of the pizza lacked that crunch that I love. Slight flop but less than expected. Good experience

Decent pizza. Feels like it’s not as good as it used to be. A bit bland, crust only crispy on the edges. Felt almost underdone. Maybe will try well done next time.

Cheese pizza. Crust is fresh lots of cheese, little greasy from the cheese. Tomato sauce a little sweet not too sweet.

Probably the best known restaurant (let alone pizza place) in Akron, and it didn’t disappoint! The cheese was incredibly fresh and the crust was fantastic. It kinda reminded me of a Detroit style pizza because the crust looked thick, but it was super light and had an excellent buttery finish. My only knock on the pizza was the lack of sauce… I enjoyed the taste of it, but there was no where near enough. All in all it was a top notch Midwestern pizza!

Solid nothing fancy just good pie

Solid pie. If this was my neighborhood place, I’d be content. Nothing fancy…straight forward & good taste. Thick crust but didn’t feel heavy.

By definition, a score in the “8”’s means that the pizza is worth an out-of-the-way trip. Well, that holds true here. The tomato and cheese pizza mostly has a character all to itself - but, in the most over generalized way, has a flavor and texture reminiscent of a pan pizza from Pizza Hut. Go for the appreciation of a landmark pizza establishment of historical value, since 1949, and stay for both the tasty food and the quality throwback dining experience.
