First- Monte’s is terrible, so terrible I heard a guy at a Celtics game walk up to Portnoy and tell him. Second- This is good for bar pizza but doesn’t stand alone. Sauce and cheese are very good. Crust is lacking some of the flavor of Spa or Paul’s pizza. There’s nothing to complain about here. Maybe ask for it well done to boost the flavor and crust a bit. Third- after you take your date to Jordan’s furniture for a ride on MOM and some dippin dots, stop by Lynwood and get a good example of Boston Bar pizza. Fourth- Bring your cash, these people don’t deal in loans and credit reports so that you can get a mortgage on a pizza. Pay up to eat up. Fifth- consider turning the oven temp up 31 degrees and pulling the pizza about 30 seconds earlier. This will dial up the cheese flavor and give the crust a little more character. (I recommend pairing with a nice sutter home) F
