Quality ingredients. Crust was well done but center wasn't as crispy. Pretty similar to Manco and Manco in Ocean City but sauce isn't as flavorful. Texture was slightly better though

Was pretty excited about the certificate 8.0 review but I think this is a 6.3 pizza. $23 for a 18” large. Ratios were good but the crust was little doughy and kinda of bland. Sauce was good and is not as “paste” like as other boardwalk pizzas down in NJ. Cheese was run of the mill nothing to write home about. Fast easy service and speed. Friendly staff and lots of good indoor and outdoor seating. Overall worth going but it’s not an 8.0.

The best boardwalk pizza. Good thin crust and sauce and cheese distribution. A must have when in AV or SH.

Short for “Mackrone’s,” this is the spawn of the original Mack’s in Wildwood that was established in 1953 and an offshoot of Mack & Manco (now Manco & Manco) in Ocean City that opened in 1956. A family business for almost 70 years, the grandson of Tony Mack established this joint in Stone Harbor in 1987. While the pie is very similar looking to Manco & Manco, it has a much different texture & taste. The dough is thinnish, a little more crispy, definitely firmer with no flop and a stronger, dry undercarriage. The cheese is spread and melted very well, a tad oily, but manageable, with a sharp and much better than generic taste. Despite a terrific sauce-to-cheese ratio, the sauce is virtually the same as Manco & Manco, as if they share the secret family recipe. Lacking in sweetness, it’s semi-tangy, slightly bitter, seemingly oregano-based, underwhelming tomato sauce. A sweeter sauce that tickles the taste buds would probably boost this overall score into the 8s; but as it stands, this sauce just doesn’t dazzle. The crust is excellent in both taste & texture, very good flavor and crunch. At the end of the day, this is definitely better than your standard Jersey Shore pizza, probably the best in the Stone Harbor/Avalon area. However, it just misses the cut for a travel pie, but certainly worth a try if you’re in a half hour radius.

Ordered the Boardwalk pizza which was pepperoni and mushrooms and it was delicious. Crust was flavorful and all ingredients were top quality and plenty on each slice.

The crust is amazing! The sauce to cheese ratio is exceptional. The execution of this pie is everything you want and look for in a pizza. This is my number one pie at the Jersey shore. The specialty pies like the Boardwalk (pepperoni and mushroom) and the white sand (ricotta, broccoli, & mushroom) are excellent choices for specialty pies.

Manco and manco pizza in OC a lot better. Although I did have reheated slices on a Monday late afternoon (may have played a factor) Expensive pizza charged $15 for 3 slices and a soda

Not impressed. Had Wildwood Mack’s and Manco and Manco Ocean City also this trip and this was a distant third. First bite showed promise. Downhill from there…

I took about a 20 minute drive for this pizza after it was recommended by some friends and it was very much worth it. This pizza was fantastic. Very fresh with a great overall taste. Compared to the Mullica hill pizza it’s in a whole different category and level of pizza. Definitely one of the best pies I’ve ever had. 8.4
