Pizza Review
Ok where we at Frankie? we are at Mamma Martino’s Restaurant (pizza review time June 29th 3:30pm... posted a few days late )... this place has been a fixture at its present location on The Queensway for over 25 years. Bruno Martino with his Mamma and Pappa opened the doors in 1983 and began welcoming Toronto area residents and visitors alike to authentic Italian dining at affordable prices. Whether you’re into creating your own pizza masterpiece, enjoying one of their traditionally prepared pasta dishes or classic Italian sandwiches, you will not be disappointed. Don’t just take their word for it, Browse through their menu and come and try - Over the years "Mamma’s" has made great friends. Browse the photo gallery capturing some of their guests and don’t be surprised if you spot a few familiar faces. Ciao...from everybody at Mamma Martino’s and they hope to see you soon! The place is super authentic Italian from the outside Decour to the inside Decour to the people working inside you can tell that there’s a complete Italian vibe going on here and the excellence in food that these kind of vibes create it cannot be measured... we’ve never had a bad pizza when entering a place that looks like this —-> that takes the time ‘like this’ to make your pie—> because when you come here —> you’ll literally have to wait over 30 minutes to get your pizza—-> it’s that busy.... so we do suggest that you call in advance.... one bite everyone knows the rules—> Sauce is definitely home made and a nice tangy taste mixed with the cheese nicely ... and the undercarriage had the minimal amount of char... but The crust has perfect crisp and the dough bubbles which we used to judge all our pizzas by we’re on the way —> but just cut short from having perfect charred tops!!! It did have some flop ... ( some would call it football pie Mixed with a traditional Italian pie Frankie - We wouldn’t - some would - we wouldn’t)... we are honest as the day is long and we never let them know we’re coming and we review them so you don’t have to —> we base everything off of the basic pie and we score them 1 to 10 / one bite / everyone knows the rules / bite it / score it -> 1 thru 10 -> (the one bite score for this place is pretty accurate) ~> all wrapped into one ! 6.5 (professional score) Mamma Martino’s Restaurant Pizza is proper Italian pizza made the right way it kind of reminded us a little bit of the Michelangelo Pizza in Mississauga and we thought that was ultimately better than this pie and we gave that a 7.6 , Mamma Martino’s Pie is better than the Nino D’ Aversa in Woodbridge and we scored that one a 5.9 and both of those pies are really in the same category’ as Mamma Martino’s ... but we didn’t eat Mamma Martino’s eat the entire pie —> and we were hungry so it straight up lost a 1/2 a point easy for that.... Mamma Martino’s Restaurant 6.5 that’s a review!
