Mario's Pizzeria of Oyster Bay

OK, here we are, on a gorgeous Monday. Just had an amazing weekend in Fire Island. Big 50th party last weekend. Summer is in full swing. Gotta get the pizza reviews in. Gotta do some fire Island again this weekend. Had to stop at mom‘s to say hello. On the way to see Katy Perry tonight. And wanted to do a pizza review. Here we are at Mario‘s in oyster Bay. There’s a lot of Mario‘s, and I’ve done almost all of them. Let’s see if this one compares. It looks really good, looks like it’ll be up my alley. Let’s see. It’s not bad. I can see why it received some mixed reviews. It is thin, it is crunchy, but to be honest, it’s kind of bland. I was expecting this amazing flavor. And I just don’t get it. Still pretty good pizza. I wouldn’t go in the 6’s, just because it’s good crunch, zero flop. But it’s not bad.

Bland, floppy. Nothing special. Don’t recommend.

After a phenomenal pickup game of shinny, the boys were hungry. This pizza while not perfect does the job for when the boys grub. Decent 7.1

Marios is always a solid slice. Penne ala vodka - very solid slice. Pasta is undercooked and tough, but i dont mind it. Sauce ratio is on par and flavor is there. Crust and dough cooked well, thick enough for a heavy slice but not too thick. 7.9 Buff chick - chicken cooked perfectly, buffalo sauce has a hell of a kick to it, almost over whelming the chicken. Wish there was some ranch or blue cheese dressing like other places use to balance it out. Not terrible but def not the best ive had 6.8

Mario’s is a classic pie for you and the boys after a few brews. All factors that play into a review are equally good. At the end of the day, It’s high quality football pizza

Regular slice is a 7.1 Frankie

Solid slices. Good crisp, no flop. Nice flavor

Slice had that crazy NY flop, the crust was still doughy and no taste anymore out of Mario’s Pizza.

A little bit on the thicker side.

It has recently gotten better. Slices are big. It’s basically high quality generic pizza.

Grading strictly on the regular slice. It was better than the ol' fashion anyways.

Decent pizza

Such a plain greasy slice only upside is that it’s huge. I’ve been going to Marios before I knew how to walk and it pains me to do this but the regular slice is decent at best. Speciality slices like BBQ and ravioli are what Marios is known for. Stay away from the reg.

No flop on the fresh slice really inconsistent depending whether or not it’s fresh PS fight me Portnoy

Very good slice, great crisp, good cheese. Worth the visit.

Good sauce, good cheese nice and crispy
