Known for their Neapolitan style Pizza and here for at least 30 years, that’s exactly what I ordered. My favorite type of pizza is New York style pizza. The Italian side of my family in the generation before me, all grew up off Arthur Avenue. So Full Moon Pizza is my home base. Generation before that was from Naples, though I rarely ate Neapolitan style pizza by comparison. All that preamble is to say, Neapolitan style pizza is my third most eaten style of pizza. And Mario’s Neapolitan is done solidly. It’s got the puffy, perfectly done crust where it’s charred but not too much for this style. It’s not floppy. Sauce? Was tasty enough though I could not tell absolutely that they use San Marzano tomatoes. They don’t state that they do. So I assume the don’t. I’d wish they put more basil on it. Cheese? Ditto. I wonder where they get theirs. It’s good enough. And theirs Extra Virgin Olive Oil drizzled and, if I read the menu right, also parmigiana reggiano on it. Overall, I think this is solidly done Neapolitan style. And if that’s what you’re looking for in this area, you should come here. I would come back to try the other pies, as I’m often enough in and out of Mahopac. But I also think you can find spots that are as good not that far away (within 20 miles).

Great Pizza. Simple Great Flavor awesome char and crust. It is floppy and not too greasy

Little Mahopac flop, to be expected with a pie like this - unless you have a veteran grip. Some black char bubbles got everywhere I’m swimming in them. Anyway a great sauce, tasted like straight alcohol (tequila-like) I thought I was back in college again. But this sauce has a kind of creamier side to it that you have to search for - doesn’t come around often but when it does you’ll know. Nice cheese and leaves. Solid crust. Prolly the best marg slice of my young pizza career. And this time it’s personal.

I was pumped because visually this pizza looks amazing. However it is under seasoned, uninspired pizza.

Was excited to try, looked real good with light burn on crust, heavy greese in the middle. Picked up the slice and half the top slid off, now I need a fork.

Literally, not figuratively, soaked in grease. Soggy crust. Wouldn’t even call it good drunk pizza. That being said, the topping were fairly high quality so maybe it was just an off day. I’ll give it a three for that.

Beautiful looking Margherita pie. Wasn't impressed with the sauce, but everything else about it was spot-on.
