This pizza is probably the best you’re going to get in the Albany area. Overall, I enjoyed the meal from Marisa’s and the entire pizza was gone after dinner. The pizza sauce was phenomenal, but way too much. Sauce was constantly dripping from the undercarriage which made the pizza a bit messy. Cheese and crust were decent and I really enjoyed the hints of basil.
Now, I only rate pizza based on the taste and presentation alone. If I were to rate the customer experience along with it, the rating would be much lower.
In order to get a pizza here, you have to order hours in advance. Tried calling there last week to get a pizza for around 2pm and the earliest I can pick up was 8:10 pm the same night. You have to call the restaurant and reserve a time slot early in the day. Once you get there, you have to wait in your car until your name is put up on the screen. The time slot they give is usually a “rough estimate” as I have had to wait 30 minutes longer than the projected time.
Marisa’s has good pizza and they sure do know it, might I even say “pretentious?” Every time I’ve called this place, the staff seems disgruntled with their own customers. I feel like it’s difficult for them to keep a “fan base” for their restaurant due to the long wait times and stressed staff. Overall, I didn’t enjoy the experience of Marisa’s, but the pizza is actually good, so I am begrudgingly recommending it.
