On my radar bc it was a Matt favorite during his time in Old Forge many moons ago. Rumor is that one of the main chefs from Peppers started this but I’m reading there’s new ownership now, sure things have changed.
The pizza is fine, overall greasy very floppy base with clumps of chewy cheese which I don’t love, crust maybe is too thin? Which is ironic since Matt remembers it as a thicker football style. The flavor is fine nothing special, not clear if they did the extra sauce on half but if so it didn’t move the needle much (looks more like they did extra cheese on half). The crust seemed pretty fresh on the outside which is a plus, overall it’s borderline 8. American style round with burned cheese seems popular, I’d try that next time.
The square surprised me and was a lot better than it looks. This is borderline old forge territory and you can really tell the influence. Cheese is solid if you’re in the mood for American, sauce is the star since it’s robust/flavorful, and crust is different than traditional old forge, has the deformed undercarriage you’d maybe see on a fried square. Square saves the day here for a respectable 8.1 overall.
