Mattenga's Pizzeria

Disappointed looked good but not much flavor crust was not very good.

Pizza was a little undercooked for my liking. With a crispier crust it would have been in the 8s. The ingredients where great and the sauce was mild. Was greasy but held together well!

So I have had my share of pizza in this lifetime...I am originally form NYC where they have arguably some of the if not the best pizza in the country. Since moving to San Antonio (And surrounding area) I have had some good pizza and some okay pizza, Mattengas in my opinion is some of the best pizza I have had since moving here. The sauce is tangy but not to tangy, the cheese is melted perfectly, and all the ingredients taste fresh. I usually get the meat pie (pepperoni, Italian sausage, & bacon). If you haven’t tried them yet, you must!! You won’t be disappointed

Little crisp, little flop, some grease, good pizza for the area.

Tasty, and tight. A little oil, but not too bad. All around great pizza.

Pleasantly surprised

Update to my original score. After eating here a few times and eating at other local places, this pie definitely deserves a higher score and is a very good conventional oven NY slice.

Rookie score but I don’t give a fuck. This is a very good pizza, just solid. But it is not an 8.1 or 7.9 it is a solid 8.0. I would most definitely recommend
