Pizza Review
Miami Beach Pizza sounds like a sexy pie; unfortunately, this is basically NYC dollar slice pizza by the beach. Doughy, thick & super soft, it’s pretty much a standard football pizza with a firmish undercarriage & zero crisp. The crunchless crust is somewhat undercooked & encircles the pizza like big doughy pillows. While seemingly a generic shredded mozzarella blend, the cheese has a nice melty consistency with a surprisingly creamy texture & slightly above average taste. Sweet with a smidge of zing, the sauce has decent flavor but a tad acidic attribute that triggers the gag reflex. With a shockingly manageable & minimal amount of oil, this pie is a notch better than dollar slice quality in the grease department. Overall, nothing special here, just a good late night drunk pizza or a fine grab-n-go slice coming off the beach. They also serve empanadas & some other Cuban fare, very fitting of a Miami pizzeria. While not terrible for this area, this is essentially Miami Beach’s version of New York City dollar slice pizza with a sexier name.
