Michaelangelo's Pizza & Subs - Cape Carteret

Michaelangelo’s was decent when I first moved here two years ago. Ordered it a second time and was surprised because it declined severely. Lazarro’s became my local favorite but just like Chik-Fila, they’re closed on Sundays so I ordered Michaelangelo’s again. Awful. Wouldn’t have finished it but I paid for it. Even more disappointed that we have left overs. Let’s get to why it’s awful: The dough is tough and tasteless. Seemed like it was re-heated in a microwave rather than an oven. Same thing with the crust. It just tasted like it had no life. Like someone missed an ingredient or two. The sauce was also tasteless…no COVID here either. Zero tang. It was missing the sweet saltiness that most expect from a good sauce. This was like cheap tomato paste. The last part was the cheese. You can’t screw up cheese, right? Yes you can. There was just way too much, which led to a ton of grease and soaked into the lifeless crust making it soggy on the ends. The driver was awesome and friendly, but I’m not paying $16 for a medium dry bicycle tire again. Not ordering from here again. That’s the review.
