Friday is always great for a pizza review. Beautiful day in Philadelphia...doing some work on Chestnut St and just went to 1 of the higher scored spots... Mix. It’s an awesome bar/restaurant with Pizza as the highlight menu item. Overall, it’s a unique slice...in a good way. Not much crunch...but still solid flavors. The sauce was very good and I wanted more. Garlic crust tops it off. If you’re looking for drinks and an above average slice, it’s a solid place to be.

12 inch pepperoni pizza. I had them put it back in the oven and it still had a lot of flop. The flop is keeping this out of the 7s. Crust has nice crisp but middle was a bit soupy. Good but not great. This could have been lower if they didn’t have a bar.

About damn time I gave this place a review. I used to go a number of times since this was near my alma mater. Slice was almost as good as i remembered it to be. The crust was delightful with a garlic taste. My negative was that the cheese was a little heavier than what is ideal for a plain slice. Overall, Mix is a solid place for above-average slices and is comparable to what one can find in Jerz.

Brick oven pizza. It was the day after our wedding and they gave us a free drink which was super nice. Everyone was cool and they had a huge bar. Overall good slice.

Nothing spectacular. I would have liked it crispier from a brick over place. The cheese had a bit of an odd taste to me (maybe using a different blend). A tad on the greasy side too. Sauce was fine. Not rushing back.

One of the harder slices I’ve had to rate so far. Starting at 7 for a basic ”this is good but not great” pie, this basically stuck right there. This one came out piping hot and need a cooling period. The sauce was pretty much no where to be found and the cheese was pretty bland. The crust Had a pretty nice crisp and not much flop. Probably would have gone around 6.7 if not for the garlic crust. That added .3 for me. Again, your basic 7.0 pie. Don’t go out of your way, but stop in if you’re nearby and hungry. That’s a review.

Alright Frankie...Mix’s margarita pizza is the best pizza in Philly hands down. You gotta get over to 21st and Chestnut and try it.
